Having had the honor of serving as the duly elected Justice of the Peace for the past six years, I am excited to formally announce my candidacy for re-election in the 2026 election cycle. I humbly ask for your continued support and your vote.
During my tenure, we have worked diligently to build a court environment rooted in professionalism, integrity, and compassion. We've prioritized the development of our staff and established ethical work standards that emphasize exceptional customer service and deep knowledge of Texas state statutes. At the heart of everything we do is a commitment to justice — to striking a fair and righteous balance in every case. That is our standard, and that is our obligation.
Mesquite has been my home for most of my adult life. It’s where I’ve raised my children and where I’ve had the privilege of giving back to them, whether by volunteering in schools, coaching cheer and football teams, hosting youth spring and summer camps, or collecting and delivering basic necessities to families in need. But community service doesn’t stop in my neighborhood. As an active member of several local and national organizations, I’ve had the opportunity to serve beyond our city limits and to uplift voices that often go unheard. A moment that shaped my journey came in 2015, when Judge L. Clifford Davis, speaking at a scholarship gala, said: “Don’t give up because you are afraid to get started.” That statement has stayed with me guiding both my professional path and the values I’ve passed on to my sons.
That same year, I earned my CRP™ designation from the National Federation of Paralegals Association (NFPA) and my ALP certification from the National Association for Legal Professionals (NALS). I have remained active in several cities, county, and statewide legal organizations, where I’ve built strong, trusted relationships within the legal community.
In 2017, I was humbled to be named NFPA Paralegal of the Year, a recognition that affirmed the dedication I’ve poured into my career. I’ve also proudly served as the Ethics and Professional Responsibility Coordinator for NFPA, helping to uphold and promote the Model Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility. Additionally, I served on the Board of Directors for the Dallas Area Paralegal Association (DAPA) Ethics Board and was elected Vice President/President-Elect of the J.L. Turner Legal Association Paralegal Section.
I remain committed to continuing education, mentorship, and advocacy within the legal field, all while maintaining my promise to serve our community with fairness, integrity, and compassion. As I seek re-election, I do so with gratitude, humility, and a renewed commitment to the people I serve. Let’s continue this journey together.
